Job Description The post coordinator works closely with video producers, editors and the operations team to ensure the successful and efficient asset management, editing, publishing and archival of videos for NYT Cooking. In this role, you will support big picture workflow development and support the rollout and implementation of new and updated post production processes across the NYT cooking video team. The post coordinator will partner with producers to establish edit timelines, book freelance editors, and track project status to ensure expectations and deadlines are met. The post coordinator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization of the video archive and will be the point of contact for asset tracking and sourcing. This role will report to the Video Operations Manager. Responsibilities: Work closely with the Video Operations Manager to develop, upkeep and implement post-production workflow across the video and social video teams Support, build and maintain post-production calendars and timelines using Airtable. Oversee and manage video archives and support asset tracking, sourcing and delivery. Ensure necessary legal contracts for assets and media are secured. Perform administrative tasks including scheduling, onboarding, invoicing and budgeting. Assist with sourcing and booking of freelancers Coordinate with freelance video editors and ensure edit timelines are kept, feedback is being delivered and deadlines are being met Support upload and publishing of on-platform videos within the CMS Make recommendations and identify best practices that will improve our overall post production process Basic Qualifications: Must have a knack for problem solving and experience in a high-pressure digital video environment. Must have expertise in the technical aspects of media production and post-production with an understanding of video editing systems and equipment and their costs. Must be familiar with all systems for ingesting, transcoding, exporting, uploading and archiving video. Experience with editing and camera operating 4 years of experience working in video production Strong computer skills with an ability to adapt to new project management and asset management systems Preferred Qualifications: An excellent sense of how to keep a physical space and work process organized An eye for detail and effective communication skills A passion for cooking and the mission of The New York Times This position is represented by the NewsGuild of NY. The annual base pay range for this role is between $107,790.80 and $110,000.00.
