Job Description/Responsibilities:
The qualified candidate will assist with all choirs within the choral music program that consist of instruction, conducting, and organization; co-direct various ensembles as specified by the Director of Choral Activities. In addition to various responsibilities designated by the Director of Choral Activities, the faculty load will consist of teaching Music Appreciation, as well as applied studies and other foundation courses according to area of expertise.
Other responsibilities include active participation in the promotion, recruitment, and retention of talented students for the music program; assisting in determining and administering scholarship offerings of the choral music program; working with other public-school music educators; supervising students participating in the Federal Work-study program, and attending professional conferences such as ACDA.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience, qualifications and abilities including:
- Completed Master’s degree in Choral Music Education or Vocal Performance.
- Two (2) years of proven teaching success in choral music
- Capability to accommodate varying styles of music literature: Classical, Gospel, R&B, and Pop.
