Position:  Bowling Equipment Repairer                                     Salary:  $21.02/hour

DUTIES:

Maintain, adjust, and repair a variety of bowling equipment having mechanical, electrical and electronic parts, components, and assemblies. Service of typical equipment: automatic pin placing machines, automatic scorers, ball returns, telescope and telefoul units, ball drilling machines, pin finders, lane maintenance machines, and ball conditioners.

 

Apply standard trade practices in diagnosing equipment malfunctions by referring to manufacturer's diagrams and specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams using test equipment such as continuity testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters and feeler gages. Performs operational checks, visually check for worn or damaged parts, trace wiring, disassemble, make necessary adjustments, repair, or replace defective parts, clean, lubricate, and reassemble the equipment.

 

Follow regular servicing and preventive maintenance schedules to ensure minimal breakdowns.

Identifies replacement parts and supplies; prepares orders.

 

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Minimum:

1. HS Diploma or GED

2. Knowledge of the mechanical and electrical principles and operating characteristics of bowling equipment.

3. Ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and manufacturer's service manuals.

4. Ability to lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs.

5. Ability to work in an environment with high noise levels.

6. Regular use of hands/fingers, tools, or controls; able to reach with hands and arms.

 

Preferred:

1. Minimum 1-year related experience maintaining bowling lanes, pinsetters and scoring equipment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

OTHER ESSENTIAL INFORMATION:

  • Selectee will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer as the Standard method of payment for payroll and travel purposes.
  • Males born after 12/31/59 and at least 18 years of age must be registered with the Selective Service System, unless covered by an exemption under the Selective Service Law, in accordance with 5 U.S. Code 3378.  Selectee will be required to provide a written statement regarding his registration status unless he is exempted by this statute.
