Job Description
Summary: Manages and directs the daily tasks required to perform ongoing support of design, construction, startup and/or operations/ maintenance activities of complex high technology systems or projects Renders expert opinions on engineering and technical issues, provides recommendations to project design and construction teams in specific areas of expertise. Provides independent reviews and assessments in areas of specialized expertise and provides guidance to project teams in delivering results on projects of complex, high- technology nature. Interfaces with management personnel and customer representatives. Develops and enforces work standards, assigns schedules, reviews work quality, and communicates goals, objectives, and policies of the organization to subordinates. Provides leadership for the project team, coordinates with the functional organizations, and supervises senior personnel within the project organization.
Education/Experience: Master’s degree in Engineering, Science or Business Management. Twelve (12 years) of directly applicable experience in a specialized technical field and is acknowledged as an expert in the specific area in question

Senior Level Oversight
3 Needs:
1. Control account manager – Technical/Engineering. Earned Value Management reporting, corrections
to time/charges. Technical/Work project manager. Reporting budgeting
2. Technical side/Senior Oversight: Looking for several years of experience in DOE projects and
processes. Design modifications and design aspects. Ensuring processes fully, find deficiencies and
corrective action plans. Quality assurance like function. Mentoring younger staff and managing during
construction.

3. Is there any possibility of extension/conversion? 3 years max most likely
4. Which organization/group? PIE-2
5. Working in a Secure or Not Secure area/working with confidential information.
No, will need to be able to obtain a Q-clearance.

7. Is this position for a new project, replacement or backfill. New project
8. Is position remote or on-site? Onsite with remote flexibility up to 50/50.
Preference of primarily onsite
9. Work schedule (9/80A or 5-8s or 4-10s) Flexibility with core hours M-F 8-4, 9/80
or 5/8 preferred.
10. On Call/ OT? On Call possible but there is onsite coverage OT possible during
construction (only on as needed basis)
11. Is this a full-time position from the start? Yes
12. Where will they physically be working? What tech area? SMSI Building in Los
Alamos (not onsite)
13. Is driving expected, a government vehicle or private to be expected? Minimal,
some onsite meetings.
14. Any travel required? 1 of the Technical resources will need to travel to
manufacturing site/satellite offices
15. Per diem/ relocation? TBD
16. Clearance Level needed? Ability to obtain Q-Clearance

18. Education/ Degree? Engineering Degree (Project management for 1/3 roles)
Masters would be nice to have
19. Software knowledge requirements? Basic computer skills, Primavera experience
would be nice to have for the CAM role)

least 10 years of DOE experience
