Summary of Position
- Interprets and carries out the prescription of the physician; including static and dynamic splinting.
- Evaluates all patients referred for occupational therapy and completes/submits reports pertaining to theses evaluations.
- Maintains patient treatment schedules consistent with the needs of the department.
- Confers with the person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient and keeps them informed of any additional patient needs, treatment and/or progress.
- Prepares and submits departmental reports, assuring confidentiality, including: evaluation reports/summaries, discharge reports/summaries; progress reports to referring physician/agency, progress notes on all patients within their area and daily attendance records and summaries of same.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Physical Therapy.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited school of occupational therapy.
- Appropriate licensure and/or certification commensurate with job responsibilities.
- Must know the principles and practice of OT, be familiar with the American Occupational Therapy Association Code of Ethics.
- Certified Hand Therapist
- Current licensure as a Occupational Therapist in the State of Florida.
- Minimum of two of clinical practice.
