Insurance Verification Specialist

Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Insurance Verification Specialist. As an Insurance Verification Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely verification of insurance coverage for our patients. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of medical coding and insurance procedures.

Duties:
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients using various methods such as online portals, phone calls, and written correspondence
- Review and interpret insurance policies to determine coverage limitations and requirements
- Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to obtain necessary information and resolve any discrepancies
- Update patient records with accurate insurance information and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with medical billing team to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement processes
- Stay up-to-date with changes in insurance policies, coding guidelines, and managed care contracts
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed

Skills:
- Proficient in office software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with medical records systems and electronic health records (EHR)
- Knowledge of medical coding systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10
- Understanding of managed care contracts and insurance terminology
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately analyze information
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
