Job Description
At CoBank, our Audit Manager manages financial, operational, technology and/or regulatory audits in accordance with established department and professional audit standards. Participates in all phases of the audit engagement including audit planning, program development, risk assessment, testing and controls evaluation, report writing and exception follow-up. Prepares and reviews work papers that support opinions presented in reports. Asses the materiality of audit findings. This is a Part Time position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages audits in accordance with professional audit standards, procedures and guidelines, within the boundaries of individual assignments, and within specifications and timeframes listed in the audit plan.
- Manages the risk assessment process.
- Delivers the verbal and written presentations and reports to management detailing audit results.
- Assesses business and management implications of control issues and places observations in proper perspective.
- Develops innovative suggestions that provide value to the group being audited
- Coordinates with external auditors, Farm Credit Administration, and other third parties as necessary for information technology related matters.
- Determines fiscal requirements of internal auditing operations and assists in budget preparation.
- Monitors, verifies, and reconciles expenditure of budgeted funds
- Prepares clear and concise audit reports.
- Evaluates candidates and identifies skill sets required from co-sourced vendors for the completion of relevant audits.
- Maintains professional expertise in audit best practices, and in the technical areas of responsibility.
- Conducts special reviews, participates in special projects, and performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, technology, information systems or other relevant discipline.
- Six (6) years of audit or relevant experience, preferably in banking or the financial services industry; or an appropriate combination of experience and education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree and/or certifications such Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) preferred.
- Experience with automation or analytics based technology to supplement internal audit procedures.
- Advanced experience with auditing principles and applying best practices of the internal audit profession.
- Advanced experience and knowledge of COSO framework, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and other regulatory requirements for financial institutions.
- Proven ability to utilize enterprise-wide view of risks and control to assist in audit planning and risk mitigation throughout the organization.
- Excellent technical, analytical and research skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated supervisory or managerial skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage workload and projects, prioritize competing commitments, and complete assignments in accordance with established deadlines.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and build relationships with associates and management at all levels across the bank.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).
- Availability for occasional work outside normal business hours.
- Availability for occasional travel.
Compensation Information
- Estimated Base Salary Range: $110,000-$130,000
- Target short-term incentive opportunity: 18%
