Essential Duties
- Leads projects for CoBank’s strategic analysis and internal consulting function. Reports to VP of Strategic Analysis and responds to inquiries from executive team related to corporate strategy, long-term planning, changes in policy environments, and evolving rural business climate.
- Conducts strategic analysis in support of requests generated by executive management, including the President & Chief Executive Officer. Works closely with VP of Strategic Analysis to support senior leaders through interpreting inquiries, anticipating and delivering on objectives, and following through on deliverables in a time-effective manner.
- Interprets analytical data, develops actionable insights, and delivers executive summaries, consultation and recommendations.
- Leads multiple analyses and strategic projects from inception to completion, prioritizing based on urgency, expectations and deadlines.
- Collaborates on an as-needed basis with external management consulting firms and service providers.
- Works in a small, nimble team to deliver timely results on a wide array of projects.
Basic Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA)
- Five (5) years of progressive experience with increasing responsibility in management consulting or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Fortune 500 companies on corporate strategy and policy challenges.
- Extensive knowledge of quantitative analysis, with the proven ability to interpret results and translate them for various audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects from abstract inquiry to definitive interpretation and recommendation in support of strategic goals and business expectations.
- Proficiency in utilizing publicly available economic and financial databases.
- Proven business acumen, critical thinking, creative problem solving and decision making skills.
- Self-starter comfortable working with minimal oversight.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage projects and deliver on commitments within tight timeframes and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute constructively on a small team.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to exercise influence, work collaboratively and build and maintain effective relationships with all levels of executives, internal team members, customers, and other stakeholders and partners.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication, public speaking and presentation skills, with the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, management, customers and outside parties.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (MS Project, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
- Preferred: Knowledge of U.S. agribusiness and/or the rural economy.
Compensation Information
- Estimated Base Salary Range: $110,000-$150,000
- Target short-term incentive opportunity: 18%
