Cobb EMC is currently recruiting for a Stock Clerk I to provide the receiving, storage, securing, and disbursement of materials.

Responsibilities
Major Areas of Responsibility
The items listed are major responsibilities of this position. They are not intended to cover each aspect of the position as the scope and duties may change or be temporarily altered based on the current business needs of the Company. The basic requirement of every position is to perform all tasks as assigned by the reporting authority.
Safety & Corporate Standards:
- Abide by all corporate standards, policies, by-laws, rules, and regulations
- Abide by all safety rules, practices, and standards and perform all duties and tasks in a safe manner
- Complete all assigned work in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner
- Operate all vehicles and assigned equipment in accordance with operator’s manuals and state and local laws
Line Construction Materials & Supplies:
- Gather, issue, and retrieve materials and supplies for line construction
- Verify that proper quantities, weights, etc. of all materials and supplies ordered are received
- Deliver materials and supplies to and from other departments, and field crews.
- Issue reusable materials and supplies back to stock for later use

Paperwork for Materials & Supplies:
- Properly route tool requisition slips, packing slips, and issue and material return slips
- Complete records for the monthly inspection of line hoses and rubber gloves
- Receive and properly record materials returned by line crews
- Complete records for hand tools and emergency items. Only issue them as required
Other Warehouse Duties:
- Maintain all storage facilities and work areas in a neat and orderly manner. Keep all materials and supplies in assigned areas
- Inform Warehouse Supervisor when inventory levels are too high or too low based on corporate standards
- Obtain proper authorization prior to issuance of all materials and supplies
- Participate in inventory audits, as required
- Operate forklift, motorized warehouse equipment, and other equipment
- Provide adequate physical security for materials and supplies
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School or equivalent.
Minimum of six months experience in warehouse work, such as stocking, shipping/receiving, inventory control
Working knowledge of line construction materials and corporate policies and procedures
Basic mathematics, reading skills and writing
Skills:
Proficient in operating forklift, and other heavy equipment
Proficient with bar coding equipment
Ability to work with minimal supervision and at a fast pace
Possess valid Georgia driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous utility industry experience
Training in electric utility line construction
Physical Demands:

Examples: Work performed involves frequently standing and walking for extended periods of time; frequently climbing ladder; frequently retrieving materials and supplies to fill orders; frequently lifting, loading and unloading utility poles and other heavy supplies; frequently operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
Working Conditions:
Work in warehouse and outside in various weather conditions. Shift rotation when needed
Work overtime, as required
Working Relationships:
- Internal:
- Receive direction and instruction from immediate foreman
- Receive guidance and training from Stock Clerk II and Stock Clerk III as directed
- External:
- Effectively serve all members and vendors to achieve increased member and public support of the Corporation
