Job Description

This is a paid seasonal internship with the Procurement department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Joining our team, the Procurement Intern will work on a series of projects involving vendor management, contract management, full goods and raw materials, reporting, developing presentation, hard, and soft skills.


Goals and Objectives

  • Work with the Procurement and Facilities Teams to assist in developing new procedures
  • Create process flow diagrams in support of the development of new procedures
  • Participate in weekly professional development sessions
  • Maintain weekly status tracker report outs
  • Individually develop, implement, and manage one project through completion


Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the end to end process of Procure To Pay (PTP)
  • Understand the end to end process of Raw Materials to Full Goods (RM/FG)
  • Obtain experience in project management and planning skills
  • Develop public speaking, presenting, and teaching skills via real time and virtual audiences
  • Resume writing, and improved interviewing skills


Deliverables

End of Internship Presentation: Provide leadership with a 30-minute ‘End-of-Internship’ presentation using MS PowerPoint and public speaking skills to communicate the following:


  • Experience & Practical Application: What project(s) did the intern work on during their internship?
    • How were they able to utilize their academic experience/education to enrich their internship experience?
    • What new skill(s) did the intern acquire because of their internship experience?
    • What new experience(s) did the intern have that they found valuable and applicable in future corporate applications?
    • What is one thing the intern learned that surprised them to learn?
    • What is one thing that could have been different to make this experience even better for future interns?
  • Reporting Requirement: Intern to learn how a Corporate ERP Systems works. Be responsible for the running of, analysis, and sending out a set of reports throughout the duration of the internship.
  • Oral Presentation / Period of Instruction: Intern to present a block of instruction in real time to an actual audience of company associates (in person and/or in a virtual environment). This training deliverable will give the intern real world experience in public speaking, presenting, and teaching. The Intern will learn the invaluable skills of presenting an idea or concept, engaging with an audience, and answering questions.

Job Requirements

Coke Northeast is looking for an undergraduate student who is majoring in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related fields. To perform this job successfully the applicant must be able to perform each of the following requirements successfully:

  • Ability to prioritize and work efficiently both independently and in a group
  • Ability to listen, communicate (both written and verbally) and follow-up effectively
  • Ability to analyze, think critically and problem solve
  • Work in a fast paced, ever changing environment
  • Some travel required (COVID-19 Travel Guidelines will dictate travel opportunities)


Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
