Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Chocolate Maker to join our team. As a Chocolate Maker, you will be responsible for producing high-quality chocolates while adhering to strict food safety and quality standards. Duties:
- Operate and maintain chocolate-making equipment, including tempering machines, enrobers, and molding machines
- Weigh and measure ingredients according to recipes
- Monitor and adjust temperature, humidity, and other variables to ensure proper chocolate production
- Fabricate chocolate products by hand, including truffles, bonbons, and bars
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the production area
- Sanitate equipment and work surfaces regularly to prevent cross-contamination
- Adhere to food safety regulations and practices, including Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
- Conduct quality checks throughout the production process to ensure chocolates meet our high standards
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance tasks
- Assist with inventory management, including tracking ingredient levels and ordering supplies as needed
Skills:
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately
- Knowledge of CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) in food processing
- Experience working in the food industry, preferably in chocolate or confectionery production
- Ability to fabricate chocolates by hand with precision and attention to detail
- Understanding of food production processes and techniques
- Familiarity with sanitation practices in a food manufacturing setting
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles
- Mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot chocolate-making equipment
