Coffman Engineers is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer with 2-5 years of experience who is dynamic, innovative, and is looking for an environment that promotes professional growth. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, have a desire to work and grow as a team player, and be willing to have fun.
Duties and Skills:
- Design and specify basic systems without continuous oversight.
- Assist in managing CAD and production efforts.
- Perform consulting services for internal clients utilizing Fire Protection Engineering technical skills.
- Technical skills can include: Automatic suppression system design, Fire detection, Alarm and mass notification system design, Life-safety code analysis and egress analysis, Fire resistant construction analysis, Smoke control analysis and special inspection, General fire protection, and life safety concepts and research
- Possess basic computer skills regarding computer-aided drafting, Revit, graphics, fire dynamic simulation, Outlook, email, Word, and Excel.
- Able to work independently and on teams.
- Be a positive contributor to the overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
- Able to multi‐task and prioritize in a fast‐paced environment.
- Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering from accredited college or university
- Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degrees will be considered
- 2-5 years of professional experience in Fire Protection Engineering (consulting)
- EIT, NICET Level II or II, and PE preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience working with REVIT and/or AutoCAD
- General building construction knowledge (preferred)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
