The successful candidate for this position will provide engineering support for a variety of design projects involving process piping, HVAC systems, and plumbing systems. We are seeking innovative, results-oriented individuals who value high standards of performance and collaborative teamwork.QualificationsBachelor of Science Degree from an ABET accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or similar fieldRegistration as a Professional Engineer (PE) requiredMinimum 5 years of consulting engineering experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Contractor IndustryMinimum 5 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing engineering preferredActive industry involvement preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsFamiliarity with relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing and ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standardsPreparation of design criteria documents, technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications for HVAC and plumbing systems including piping and ductwork systems design, cooling load calculations, design of air distribution systems, design of hydronic systems, design and layout of fan rooms and mechanical rooms, chilled and hot water systems, constant volume and variable air volume systems, automatic temperature controls systems including direct digital controls systemsPerform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs (i.e. Carrier HAP)Working knowledge of the LEED rating system, or other green rating systemsWrite/ edit mechanical specificationsOccasional travel to construction sites to conduct mechanical inspections and prepare reports. Travel includes locations such as Neighbor Islands, Guam, Japan, and South Pacific.Able to work independently or as part of a teamExcellent time management skillsExperience working in a collaborate team environment utilizing project management skillsBusiness Development experience preferredDesire to project manage inter-disciplinary projects and project teamsProficient computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
