POSITION TITLE: Comptroller
DEPARTMENT: Finance
NATURE OF POSITION: The Comptroller monitors internal controls of financial information. This position will undertake all aspects of the financial management including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedure.
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
RESPONSIBLE TO: Executive Vice President
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in accounting 5 years.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance.
- Proficient in QuickBooks, MicrosoftXL, and Powerpoint.
- Outstanding knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to provide financial projections.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the EVP with preparing financial statements.
- Assist in developing finance and accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist EVP in the development and maintenance of the health center’s budget.
- Conduct variance analysis and reporting.
- Provide monthly expenditure reports.
- Reconcile and correct general/subsidiary ledger accounts.
- Maintain timely and accurate financial accounting records
- Responsible for posting entries to the general ledger
- Maintain and enforce internal control measures.
- Perform thorough preparation for annual audits.
- Perform monthly account analysis.
- Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review closing entries.
- Prepare analysis of aging accounts receivable
- Ensure accrual entries are reversed.
- Maintain various spreadsheets for fixed assets, grants, and accruals
- Review grant management accounts
- Prepare and review of regulatory reports for compliance.
- Prepare reports for the EVP as needed.
- Review and compile audit documentation.
- Perform monthly account analysis.
- Maintain the chart of accounts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
