Java Architect
Cognizant Digital Engineering practice is looking to hire a motivated and energetic Java Architect.
Cognizant Digital Practice helps clients reinvent products, experiences, and business models to create new value, differentiation, and drive revenue in the digital economy. We take an Experience centered approach which uses human insights to take ideas from vision to outcome and building end to end experience led solutions that enables brands to transform their customer and employee experiences using design, marketing, and commerce capabilities.
Location: McLean, VA (candidates must currently reside within a commutable distance to McLean or McLean- no remote work or relocation is feasible for this position)
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
· Single point of contact for customer for two engineering Pods (team size: 14) – Java, Angular on AWS
· Have led projects using Agile – SCRUM and hands on in measuring the metrics (Burn down chart, velocity etc.,). Ability to drive daily / weekly / monthly calls and clearly document issues / risks / dependencies.
· Responsible for providing technical guidance and oversight to a team of engineers and developers. Tech stack: Java, Angular on AWS
· Responsible for Designing and implementing scalable, secure, and efficient architectures for Java applications on AWS
· Ensure implementing and managing DevOps practices, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
· Responsible to ensure the security, compliance, and governance of Java applications on AWS.
· Responsible to work closely with cross-functional teams, technical stakeholders and customers
Key Qualifications:
· 12 years Development experience using full stack Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservices REST
· 5 years AWS Cloud Deployment Experience
· 5 years as an Architect or Team Lead with solutioning experience and managing a team.
· UI, Java Script, CSS, React/Angular
· SQL, Oracle DB
· 5 years of Banking or Financial Services Industry experience, preferred.
