Job Description Cognosante is looking for a motivated, hands-on Database Administrator Lead with strong logic and interpersonal skills who is up for the challenge of joining a high-performing Data Ecosystem (DE) team (Enterprise Data Warehousing combined with Analytics). As a Database Administrator lead, you will work with the Technical Architect to lead the strategy and implementation for the data integration solution. The technical domain of the Database Administrator Lead includes supporting the Technical Architect with logical and physical data modeling, data integration standards, source to target mapping, best practices, tools and technologies, security in the data integration environment, data integration architecture, design, development, capacity planning, performance tuning, and administration. You will need to clearly identify goals for data management, translate user needs to database design, and can create database management processes along with detailed documentation. Key Responsibilities Work with database software to establish ways to store, organize and manage data Maintain database accuracy and ensure all datasets are up to date Assist with database design and development while managing database access Designing maintenance procedures, disaster recovery procedures, and operationalizing these procedures Ensure that databases meet user, federal, and industry standard requirements Liaise with programmers, applications/operational staff, IT project managers and other technical staff Manage database security/integrity and backup procedures Define objectives through consultation with staff at all levels Write reports, documentation, and operating manuals Test and modify databases to ensure that they operate reliably Provide user training, support and feedback Optimize database and data ecosystem components Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or another technical field. (6 years of experience can be substitute for degree) Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience managing a complex relational database management system with multiple environments (development, test, production, etc.) Have experience working with one or many of the following tools/platforms; Snowflake, AWS S3, AWS Athena or Aurora, Azure Blob Broad knowledge of Database administration tool sets and concepts Experience with Database software installation, upgrades, management, troubleshooting, design, support (including backups and recovery), data migration techniques, and Database security Experience with Database conversions from disparate system(s) to Lake, Enterprise Data Warehouse and Lake House designs/concepts Capable of hands-on work in all phases of Database design and management Extensive experience dealing with Sensitive Data abiding by Industry Standards and regulations Experience with technical requirements for data classification and implementing data protection technologies Preferred Qualifications Cloud-based ETL, Data Quality, MDM, or Data Warehouse certifications (i.e. AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Informatica) Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI Agile/Scrum Certification Lean Six Sigma Compensation $91,207.00 - $145,930.00 The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may will be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience.
