Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the design and product development of semiconductor lasers for datacom and sensing applications.
- Take ownership of the laser chip design, perform detailed simulation, test the lasers and analyze the results.
- Work with epitaxial and process engineers to define the device structure and process.
- Coordinate with test and reliability engineers to arrange performance and reliability testing.
- Lead laser development projects with a cross-functional team through the concept and design phases in a structured new product introduction process.
Education & Experience
- MS or PhD or equivalent education and at least 5 years of relevant experience
Skills
- Deep understanding of semiconductor laser physics.
- Hands on experience with semiconductor laser modelling and design tools.
- Hands on experience with semiconductor laser characterization and test.
- Familiarity with III/V semiconductor processes preferred.
- Familiarity with reliability testing.
- Excellent communication skills and technical contributions are equally important for this role.
