We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Personal Injury Paralegal to join our team.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Personal Injury Paralegal to provide essential support to our attorneys in handling personal injury cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of personal injury law, exceptional organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities. This position requires attention to detail, a passion for helping clients, and the ability to manage a demanding workload.
This position will be a part-time position (20 hours/week). Remote work is acceptable however you must be able to work one day in our Pleasant Grove Office one day per week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing a caseload of personal injury cases, ensuring that all deadlines and requirements are met.
2. Client Communication: Maintain regular contact with clients, providing updates on case progress and addressing their inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
3. Document Management: Draft, review, and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence. Request medical records and bills from various medical provider officers. Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and readily accessible.
4. Legal Research: Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents to support case preparation and strategy.
5. Investigation: Assist in gathering evidence, including medical records, accident reports, and witness statements. Coordinate with expert witnesses and other professionals as needed.
6. Scheduling: Manage attorney calendars, scheduling appointments, court dates, and deadlines.
7. Discovery: Assist in the discovery process by preparing and responding to requests for information, interrogatories, and document production.
8. Settlement Negotiation: Assist attorneys in negotiating settlements with opposing parties, insurance companies, and defense attorneys.
9. Court Support: Attend court hearings, trials, and depositions with attorneys, preparing and organizing necessary documents and exhibits.
Qualifications:
- A paralegal certificate or equivalent education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of personal injury law and legal procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and client-focused with the ability to handle sensitive situations with care.
- Spanish-speaking is preferred, but not required.
