Financial Reporting Accountant I

The Financial Reporting Accountant I assists in the monthly accounting close and preparation of quarterly and annual Financial Statements. This position is responsible for assisting and ensuring accurate Financial Statements are prepared timely and providing general support of various projects as needed.
This position is located in Bellevue, WA (Seattle area) and work from home arrangements are welcome as many peer team members work from home today.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure proper accounting during closing procedures.
• Play a key role in month-end closing and preparation of periodic reporting schedules and disclosures for monthly, quarterly and year-end review and audit processes.
• Assist in analytical reviews as required, including researching variances between prior and current account balances.
• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual Financial Statements in accordance with GAAP and SEC filing requirements
• Assist Accounting and Finance personnel in the resolution of accounting-related issues.
• Execute assigned controls (SOX).

Education & Experience

• BA Accounting, Business or related degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• 1 years’ experience preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Outlook applications.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Able to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing requirements.
• A high degree of flexibility and customer service attitude, particularly the ability to collaborate with business contacts and explain accounting concepts.
• Excellent time management skills.

Business Travel

• This position requires little to no business travel.

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically.
