Job Description
Position/Title: Accounting Manager
Company Overview: Col. Littleton, The Great American Leather Company, is based in Lynnville, TN. The company designs, manufactures and sells upscale leather and specialty products, which are sold direct-to-consumers through the company website and through fine retail establishments and catalogs.

Duties/Responsibilities:
· Responsible for full-cycle accounting.
· Organize, direct and oversee work of Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant.
· Supervise receivables and payables processes including bank deposits, checks, invoices, vendor payments, journal entries, Square and Affirm.
· Work directly with CPA to provide all data necessary for completion of financial reporting, taxes, tax returns, etc.
· Reconcile company credit cards and liability accounts monthly.
· Reconcile vendor/customer statements and manage balances.
· Prepare monthly state sales tax payments through Avalara AVA Tax compliance software system. Handle communications with our Avalara representative.
· Supervise annual compilation of 1099s and send them to CPA for distribution.
· Submit weekly payroll to CPA (or an outside payroll preparer) for direct deposit into employee bank accounts. Balance Aflac account monthly.
· Keep salary, salary increases, date-of-hire records updated.
· Supervise the identification and tagging of all company assets for use in filing the Tangible Personal Property Tax Return. Work with CPA to file return.
· Prepare information for yearly Worker’s Compensation Audit. Work with CPA to complete audit report.
· Prepare Daily Sales Analysis for owners and management team members.
· Interpretation and presentation of financial data to owners and management team.
· Reconcile accounts in the General Ledger to ensure that journal entries have been posted to the correct General Ledger accounts.
· Generate unadjusted monthly trial balance report to CPA and any other requested information so bank reconciliation and other monthly reports can be completed. Prepare adjusting entries to the books. Distribute adjusted trial balance report to owners.
· Manage vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and ensure that all invoices are paid on time.
· Keep payroll and all sales and financial data confidential.
· Additional financial analysis or other duties as needed.
Skills/Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
· Five years current and relatable accounting and accounting management experience preferred
· Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel
· Familiarity with integrated financial/ERP systems
· Previous experience in manufacturing/retail accounting preferred
· Experience with Avalara Sales Tax Software a plus
· Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles

Normal Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Must be available to work occasional overtime during peak periods.
This is a full-time job and is not remote. The position requires work to be done in person and on-site at our Lynnville,TN offices. If you are not able to reliably commute to Lynnville, TN daily, please do not apply.
