Production and Operations Manager

Cold Fusion Gelato, a growing manufacturer and distributor of gelato and sorbet based in Walpole, MA has an immediate opening for a Production and Operations Manager to lead our production and warehouse team. This is a hands-on role that will have a meaningful impact on the business and allow the right candidate to grow and increase their role in our company. Cold Fusion Gelato was founded in 2004 and is based in Walpole, MA.

Job Description:

Food quality and safety is a priority at Cold Fusion Gelato. As Production and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, food safety, quality control and operations. You will lead the team to fulfill the production schedule, and develop, implement, and maintain robust food safety and quality control programs. The ideal candidate will have good organizational skills, a strong background in production management and food safety, and regulatory compliance, along with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead production and warehouse team including scheduling, development, and performance management
• Develop and adhere to production schedule and ensure resources are assigned to meet schedule.
• Participate in the development of new recipes and flavors
• Effectively communicate to staff the production priorities, quality standards, and company policies including enforcement.
• Experience with GMP, BRC or SQF audits
• Ensure that all records and documents are maintained in an organized fashion in compliance with FDA requirements for issues of traceability, COO labeling, product and facility testing results, microbiological testing results, allergen control and general food safety
• Must be physically able to lift 15-50 pounds items

Requirements:

• Relevant college degree preferred; extensive experience in the food industry can substitute for formal education.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in food processing and packaging, with a strong understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and SOPs.
• Proven track record of supervising and managing personnel for a minimum of 5 years.
• Strong organization, prioritization, communication, record-keeping, teambuilding, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills required
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example, promoting a culture of accountability, pride, teamwork, quality, and food safety.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
