The Head of Accreditation leads the accreditation activities of Colibri’s Institutions of Higher Learning (“Institutions:). Interfacing with key stakeholders across the Institutions, the Head of Accreditation directs efforts to maintain continuous compliance with standards and regulations and guides the development of related policies, procedures, and trainings. The Head of Accreditation has the responsibility to collaboratively support faculty and staff in preparing meaningful assessment plans and reports and ensure continuous improvement is the overarching result of all assessment activities.
Responsibilities
  • Leads the accreditation and re-accreditation activities of Colibri’s Institutions of Higher Learning, now existing or hereafter acquired, including identifying, organizing, facilitating and monitoring tasks related to re-accreditation by accrediting agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as applicable to Colibri Institutions of Higher Education including DEAC.
  • Maintains knowledge of, monitors and ensures, institutional compliance with, the standards for accreditation/re-accreditation, requirements of affiliation, policies, procedures, guidelines, and requirements across all applicable accrediting agencies as applicable to Colibri Institutions of Higher Education including those agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education including DEAC and the professional accreditation through CAEP.
  • Keeps and maintains participant status with NC-Sara across Colibri Institutions of Higher Learning.
  • Maintains knowledge of, and monitors and ensures, institutional compliance with affiliated state regulatory boards including Higher Education Licensure Commission (DC) and Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools and other state as applicable.
  • Identifies of risks, gaps and opportunities where institutional program activities, practices and procedures do not align with published policies of the applicable Colibri Institutions of Higher Learning or with the standards and regulations of accrediting agencies including DEAC and CAEP and the required state board affiliations.
  • Provides oversight, support and direction for the re-accreditation process across Colibri’s Institutions of Higher Learning including researching, editing, and authoring accreditation documents; and assisting in preparations for onsite, offsite, and electronic accreditation compliance reviews; helping educate key stakeholders in accreditation standards; developing risk analyses and follow-up action items for accreditation compliance.
  • Partners with faculty and staff of Colibri’s Institutions of higher Learning to develop assessment plans to monitor progress towards learning outcomes and goals and provide continuous program improvement in the accreditation and assessment process.
  • Coordinates assessment activities for compliance with accrediting agencies including DEAC and CAEP standards related to assessment and institutional effectiveness and assists with other institutional and/or program specialized accreditations.
  • Direct efforts with key stakeholders across Colibri’s Institution of Higher Learning to maintain continuous compliance with accreditation standards and regulations and guides the development of related policies, procedures and trainings.
  • Work closed with marketing to ensure compliance with public facing advertising, marketing and promotional materials.
  • Collaborates with the Regulatory Team to develop, implement and evaluate accreditation plans for educator preparation programs.
  • Develops required reports, submissions, and proposals related to accreditation affairs (in collaboration with Institutional leaders)
  • Works to identify gaps in efficiency in relation to commonality among the Colibri Institutions of Higher Education and implements corrective action to maximize effectiveness and quality.
  • Monitors accreditation bodies in the international market aligned with core growth and focus geographies for opportunities to seek international accreditation that would lead to grow opportunities for the business.
  • Makes strategic recommendations for new or expanded accreditation or regulatory approvals to ensure the credibility of the lines of business as well as ease of student access for licensure, continuing education, or professional learning and to drive business growth
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp:
Bachelors plus 3-5 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • 3 years of project management experience or similar.
  • Thorough knowledge of higher learning accreditation processes as well as education provider programs.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work independently, taking initiative to advance projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Ability to use sound judgment when interacting with internal and external constituencies.
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate and interact with all levels of staff, management, and executive leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
