Title: Early Childhood Mental Health Clinical Program Coordinator

Purpose of Job
To lead program implementation of projects targeted to support children’s social emotional development and positive behaviors. To provide clinical support to CES Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) staff. To design and deliver high quality professional development experiences (workshops, coaching, etc) to early educators from the mixed delivery system and related fields, like Early Intervention.
Essential Functions
- Project implementation to support high quality programming and related administrative tasks
- Provide weekly individual clinical supervision to clinical staff
- Coordinate and facilitate team meetings, both with CES staff and other agencies
- Ensure quality and appropriateness of services provided to teachers, child care providers and families.
- Coordinate intakes, case assignment, and maintain case waitlists when needed
- Design and deliver professional development (including workshops, courses, coaching, and mentoring) for ECMH staff, administrators, teachers, EEC-licensed educators (mixed delivery system) and paraprofessionals, related to Early Childhood, Special Education and/or inclusion, aligned with NAEYC best practices and the MA High-Quality Professional Development Standards, and informed by current research
- Maintain a data collection system and provide timely data reports to CES and/or funding sources.
- Maintain full case management responsibility over all cases assigned to ECMH clinicians
- Collaborate and consult with CES supervisor concerning employee related issues, investigations and disciplinary matters.
- Mental Health Consultation: Maintain a small caseload of ECMH cases. This includes, but is not limited to, providing onsite and virtual mental health consultation to early educators, observations and assessments of children, use of social emotional assessment tools, consultations with families and creation of Success Plans and other documentation. Included may be facilitating referrals for further assessment and evaluation, early intervention, public school assessment, mental health services and/or other community resources.
- Collateral Parent Support: Provide confidential individual home visits or consultation at community sites. Assist parents in accessing other services as appropriate.
- On-site Crisis Intervention Support: Provide this as needed.
- Collaboration with other community services: Work collaboratively with other service providers to improve the accessibility and coordination of community services for young children and families
- Complete child, classroom and/or program evaluations and reports on required tools in a timely manner
- Provide outreach to isolated and hard-to-reach/at-risk families, early education and care (EEC) licensed programs, public school systems, out of school time programs, other providers who support young children.
- Participate in Early Childhood Department and Leadership Team meetings.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Represent Collaborative Educational Services Early Childhood Department to the public.
- Advocate for accessible, high quality services for children and families
- Attend and participate in local, regional, and statewide meetings as required
- Recruit and supervise social work interns, when appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Early Childhood Department Director.
Required Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology or related field
- Massachusetts professional counseling or mental health practitioner license must be current
- Professionally licensed and 5 years experience working with young children in group settings - family or center-based childcare/preschool programs, public preschool, etc.
- Previous experience providing reflective, clinical supervision
- Have an in-depth understanding of the importance of social emotional development in young children and how to support adults in facilitating this learning process.
- Experience working with young children and families
- Experience conducting child, classroom and program observations and evaluations as well as completing analysis and reporting functions/tasks
- Experience working with adults and familiar with effective adult education and coaching practices
- Experience providing a range of high quality professional development for early educators and other professional who work with young children
Preferred
- Knowledge of community resources available for parents and early education and care programs and providers
- Able to work independently as well as in a collaborative manner
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Must be dependable

Physical Demands:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Must be able to drive long distances
- Ability to lift 30lbs

Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour
