The Facilities Technician conducts a variety of maintenance tasks, including carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, and mechanical system repairs. He/She responds to emergencies, troubleshoots equipment malfunctions, adheres to safety regulations, and maintains records. Effective communication and flexibility are important for working collaboratively with the team and completing tasks on time.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct maintenance and project work on the property/building, including carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and on mechanical systems.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks in a safe and timely manner.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and system malfunctions.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, procedures, and protocols at all times.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and systems.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work completed.
- Communicate effectively with other team members and management.
- Take on additional responsibilities or tasks as needed to support the team and ensure work is completed on time and to a high standard.
Physical Demands:
- Lifting of objects up to 50lbs, combined with bending, twisting, working above ground or on irregular surfaces.
- Possesses the ability to stand and walk regularly for a minimum 8-hour shift.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong knowledge and understanding of General Construction, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, and Painting.
- 2 years of proven experience.
- Proven track record of delivery.
- Certificate in the field of expertise.
