We’re looking for a Security Lead to join our Security team to maintain a safe and secure working environment at our Headquarters located in Santa Ana. This includes protecting all personnel, safeguarding all items in our custody, and controlling access to our facilities. The Security Lead is responsible for mentoring and training the security workforce; coordinating schedule of their work shifts with the Security Manager; addressing issues and resolving problems within the department alongside the Security Manager.
You’ll report to the Security Manager and work from our Jersey City, NJ office.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor and train the security staff ensuring adherence to Company policies and procedures
- Operate within the Collectors best practices and SOPs
- Following all applicable rules and regulations with regard to the facility
- Use clear and organized methods of communication in all aspects of the role
- Interact and develop relationships with building services
- Maintain key control for the building
- Train members of the Security Team alongside the Security Manager
- Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities.
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
- Maintain organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements
- Contribute to security team’s effort by accomplishing related duties as assigned
- Make timely decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Sustain effective relationships with customers and the client
- Respond to emergency situations to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers
- Protect the company's assets relative to theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues
- Follow procedures for various initiatives, patrolling premises regularly
- Assist the Facilities team with ongoing and one-off projects in the NY/NJ/DE region
- Help define best practices and standards for Facilities projects and daily operations
- Lead by example and be a champion of all company policies, including safety, attendance & security.
Who You Are
- 3 years of Security and/or Facilities experience, especially within an industrial or office setting
- Self-starter with a bias for action, especially in situations with limited information and ambiguity
- Ready to travel to secondary Collectors sites for one-off and/or ongoing projects
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good problem solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand/walk for shifts up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to lift/maneuver up to 50lbs
- Intermittent bending and/or squatting
- Hand Use for shifts up to 8 hours per day
- Working around equipment & machinery
- Exposure to excessive noise
