Program Officer II - Registrar Office
Job Description
This position will report to the Assistant Director in the Office of the Registrar, and will be assigned to the North Las Vegas Campus. This position will be expected to work independently on assigned projects in support of the Assistant Director. This individual will be required to become proficient in PeopleSoft and OnBase. Daily attendance and punctuality are expected, as is, effective written and oral communication. The position will support the Office's operations at all CSN locations, as needed and assigned, in alignment with the multi-campus model of the College. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Update records, run reports, and post grade changes in MyCSN.
- Create grade rosters to allow instructors to post grades within stipulated deadline dates.
- Maintain communication with academic department faculty and staff to enforce deadline dates.
- Complete end of term processes including posting NR for student's whose grades were not posted, follow up with grade changes as they come in. Grade lapse (incomplete to grade) after one year requirement, recalculate GPA for all repeat/retake courses, run Deans list, President's list, Honors, and awards.
- Liaison for CTE (articulated credit) program.

Update records in MyCSN as needed for National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) Degree Verify report.
- Update program/plan changes as needed.

Run cleanup queries and revise student records weekly.
- Liaison for duplicate record merging of files within NSHE schools

Collaborate with peer employees to accomplish Office of the Registrar goals and objectives.
- Train, coach and provide guidance on specialized knowledge pertaining to this position.

Analyze problems, identify solutions, and take appropriate action to resolve problems using independent judgment and decision-making skills.

Identify when situations need to be escalated to a supervisor.
- Review documents prepared by others for program compliance; identify discrepancies, resolve problems, and provide guidance to lower-level staff; authorize and approve documents within assigned parameters.
- Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of personnel as assigned; assign, prioritize and review work; ensure completed work products meet required timelines and standards of quality and quantity.
- Provide excellent customer service utilizing the CSN 5 Guiding Principles of Service Excellence to handle difficult customer situations in a cooperative and polite manner.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned in support of the College mission.
OTHER ASSOCIATED FACTORS:
- This position requires sitting at a desk for much of the time.
- Work is normally performed in a typical office work environment.

This position requires some walking, bending, and lifting up to 15 lbs.
- This position will require working additional hours during heavy registration periods and must be available to work at any of our three main campuses on any given day to assist with front-desk coverage.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, or other discipline related to the program assignment and one year of professional experience in planning, coordinating and administering a program which included interpretation of laws and regulations; development of program policy and procedures; development and implementation of program performance standards and objectives for providing services; and development and implementation of eligibility requirements; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Program Officer I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years working in a community college, Office of the Registrar setting.
- Knowledge and commitment to the community college mission - especially HSI institutions.

Experience reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse and National Student Loan Data Base

Effectively utilize computer software such as Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat.

Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
Starting Salary
Grade 33, Step 1 $47,669.04
Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
