Colliers Securities is seeking a candidate to work as a Fixed Income Trading Assistant in our Chicago office. The trading assistant will work with a team of Sales Traders to ensure that issues are resolved, and trades are settled and cleared within the required timeframes. In this role you will communicate with brokers/counter parties to resolve settlement issues and fails. The role will serve as a point of contact with our back office to resolve operational issues. Qualifications include: proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, and the ability to interact in a team environment. Excellent communication skills and time management skills are required to be successful in this role. Previous work in a trade support role strongly preferred. Working knowledge of Bloomberg, TOMS, Tradeweb Direct, Market Access. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work with sales traders, representatives, and operations employees to assist in trade settlement issues Perform duties related to reconciliation of trade breaks, corrections, and settlement issues Communicate and confirm trades with brokers/counter parties to resolve settlement issues and fails Serve as point of contact for the back office to ensure trades are matched Relay information to customers to resolve open trade issues Assist with administrative tasks for team of Sales Representative/Traders Reconcile and monitor reports related to trade settlement Open new accounts Provide phone support for Sales traders Handles customer inquiries Other duties as assigned JOB REQUIREMENTS Basic understanding of Euro Clear and general fixed income settlement required Basic understanding of ExClearing trades required Basic knowledge of Bloomberg, TOMS required Preferred knowledge of ECNS – TMC, BondPoint, Tradeweb Direct, Tradeweb Institutional, Market Access JOB EXPECTATIONS This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday during standard business hours. Regular and reliable attendance required.
