Painter II - Aero AL (Relocation Offered)

Collins Aerospace is looking to fill several Painter II positions that will support our Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility. You will perform surface preparation, priming, painting and stenciling operations on Thrust Reverser components, in accordance with approved technical data to ensure compliance with required standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain paint equipment, mix paint and paint control.
• Maintain paint booths, cure charts and environmental logs.
• Perform surface preparation of components which includes, sanding, grinding, cleaning.

• Apply various types of Primers and fillers

• Spray Top Coat (Paint) and Stencil applications per standards.
• Cleaning and organizing Paint Shop
• Perform other duties as required

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or AA/AS degree OR
• Other 2-year post high school training OR
• In absence of a diploma or degree, must have 1 year of relevant painting experience within aerospace, automotive, or marine industries.
• Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.
• Experience working with painting equipment and accessories
• Ability to interpret Technical Data, Schematics and/or blueprints
• Lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Able to work in a standing position up to minimum of 8 hours per day.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with sanders, paint guns, and paint booths
• Able to operate and computer and programs
• Experience working in the Aerospace industry within FAA Sensitive environment
