The Test Engineering Design Services (TEDS) is seeking to fill a Principle Test Engineering position with a talented individual who possesses a BSEEE, BSCompS or BSCmptrE degree. The primary responsibility for this position is to develop integrate and sustain RF Test Solutions for various Collins products utilizing NI TestStand and C#. The engineer who fills this position must have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for both hardware and software. This position will heavily utilize software development and debug skills on multi-rack test stations. These test stations include but are not limited by the following COTs equipment: network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMM's, logic analyzers, fiber optic measuring devices, optical measuring devices, power supplies and electronic loads. This position also requires development and support of ESS and vibration test equipment and software suites. This position is open to a hybrid work schedule; however, the candidate needs to be local or willing to relocate to Cedar Rapids, IA.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Coaches, reviews, and mentors' junior engineers.
- Participate in bidding and planning activities.
- Decision making skills - have impact on assessing cost, schedule and technical performance.
- Coordinating test equipment design reviews and ensuring the generation of appropriate design documentation
- Design and implement activities required to deploy the project test solutions to world-wide destinations
- Review product designs and create test solutions that maximize test coverage in the manufacturing and service environments
- Prepare and present project / technical information to peers, internal management and customers
- Coordinate several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
- Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
- Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Software experience with NI TestStand and C#
- Factory support experience in RF technology desired
- Highly motivated and possess effective oral/written communication and interpersonal/team skills
- Ability to reverse engineer existing equipment (i.e. documenting something that is already built)
- Excellent time management skills - ability to unsupervised, multitask and delegate work to support technicians, engineering support staff and peers.
