Collins Aerospace is looking for a Program Manager, Military Programs who will serve as the face of the organization to customers. The mission of the Program Manager is to champion planning, coordination, and communication responsibilities for overall cost, schedule, performance, and quality as directed by the Value Stream Leader. You will be the focal point for the military-centric customer, responsible for ensuring the team’s objectives are achieved while coordinating a multi-disciplinary team across multiple parts of the organization. You will oversee and report overall operational performance and success.

Position requires working onsite at our Riverside CA facility.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Management for the full lifecycle of assigned product from inception through completion, inclusive of pursuit/order capture, design and development, produce to deliver, service/support, and input into long-term strategic business plans.
  • Assigned to lead an Integrated Project Team (IPT), accountable for managing the contract lifecycle, cost, schedule, performance and on-time delivery of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
  • Serve as the face of the organization to clients and customers.
  • Primary focal for military programs in Riverside, CA.
  • Leads decision making for the IPTs and applies critical thinking where incomplete data exists.
  • Develops internal and external networks and communicates vision to IPT and stakeholders within and outside of the function.
  • Plans, directs, and monitors program budget
  • Provides inputs to the strategic plan for specific and forecasted projects/programs
  • Performs and facilitates customer visits as required
  • Defines and monitors key performance metrics
  • Oversees and manages deliverables, risk/opportunity/issues, configuration, and change management

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience OR
  • Advance degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Experience leading a team of both experienced professionals and team leaders across functions,
  • Experience managing the introduction of a new product or program.
  • Deep knowledge and a highly developed technical expertise in Program Management
  • Experience developing program plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Experience with strategic planning, creating solutions for program problems, contract negotiations, and managing important vendors.
  • ERP experience
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement
  • Experience communicating and making presentations to internal & external leadership
  • Able to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally (when circumstances permit)
  • Strong Experience utilizing Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project

Preferred Qualifications

  • P&L (Profit & Loss) experience
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing environment
  • SAP experience
  • Aerospace Industry experience
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or CORE
  • PMI certification
