Inventory Control Specialist
Job Purpose
The Inventory Control Specialist/Cycle Counter is responsible for monitoring warehouse inventory and performing cycle counting duties to ensure that all materials are properly verified to be reflective of reported inventory. Documentation of procedural issues and concerns are required. Focus on all aspects of inventory movement, such as restocking and accounting for warehouse items and are responsible for compiling and maintaining records of the value, type and quantity of a company's supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains inventory cycle count and physical inventory programs
- Counts and reconciles randomly chosen part numbers and/or locations
- Assists in developing solutions to specific problem areas
- Compiles, verifies and reports periodic statistical information to management regarding trends in customer escalations
- Assists in development of projects as well as make recommendations to appropriate personnel
- Ensures compliance to inventory processes and procedures as well as compliance to contractual obligations
- Monitoring and controlling inventory integrity.
- Research inventory discrepancies and ability to reconcile them.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Analytical, detail-oriented, organized, professional and courteous in demeanor with a strong customer services mentality.
- Keep updated records so that accurate counts may be made.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Must be proficient in MS Office and any (WMS) warehouse management system
- Must be certified to operate Forklift
Working conditions
The employee is required to walk, stoop, or kneel. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, and is regularly exposed to extreme heat or cold, or temperatures consistent with outdoor weather.

Preferred Education or Experience
Minimum 6 months to 1 year related experience in a warehouse environment
