Position Summary
The Behavior Health Professional/Clinicianis an Arizona Board of Behavioral Health licensed mental health professional providing clinical services and leadership within the Assisted Group Living (AGL) Department. Under the direct supervision of the AGL Clinical Director, this is a highly skilled professional position which provides clinical services to the behavioral health clients including treatment planning, clinical behavioral health interventions, individual and group counseling, client screenings and intake assessments as well as discharge planning to a caseload of 40-50 clients. Moreover, this position is highly skilled leadership position which provides leadership and direction to behavioral health technicians who provide direct care to clients. The position is responsible for clinical oversight for all direct care personnel to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements, coordination with case management agencies, monitoring quality of service provision and advocacy for needed client services. This position is classified as Safety Sensitive.

Essential Functions:

Care Delivery
Delivers high-quality patient care and serves as a role model in maintaining standards of client care by carrying out the following duties:
Coordinates in the admission, treatment/crisis/discharge planning processes of SMI individuals needing supportive, therapeutic housing and services in the AGL and Adult Behavioral Health Therapeutic Foster Care (ABHTFC) programs
Conducts psychosocial assessments and utilizes them to create treatment plans
Troubleshoots client behavior management issues and contracts for safety and desired behaviors
Provides individual and group counseling to the ABHTFC and AGL participants as needed and clinically indicated, including substance use/misuse/abuse counseling as appropriate
Meets with clients monthly to facilitate client treatment plan reviews and makes recommendations for ongoing treatment, behavioral health services and discharge planning
Intervenes in client crises to facilitate appropriate services
Completes incident reports as required per licensure regulations and follow up with outside agencies and clients as required
Serve as primary point-of-contact for continued stay utilization management tasks
Conducts psychoeducational and process groups intended to teach clients how to manage mental health symptoms, enhance coping skills and promote life skills
Conduct small group clinical oversight sessions to assigned behavioral health technicians (BHTs) staffing clients to ensure BHTs are providing appropriate services and services to clients within the scope of their training and provide instructions for any areas of identified need for improvement
Performs coordination of care functions with clients, stakeholders, and service team members to facilitate client’s clinical needs
Provides on-call clinical coverage

Ensures compliance with all FSL policies, procedures, and practices regarding the AGL program policies and procedures, and other contract and licensure requirements; and applies knowledge to the work in accordance with quality standards
Provides input on client care/quality management
Participates in external meetings as necessary to represent the department
Attends and actively participates in initial and on-going training and development programs and opportunities, weekly clinical meetings, staff meetings, and demonstrates learned concepts on the job
Participates in assigned work teams, as requested and appropriate
Engages in continuous improvement efforts, as assigned, and strives to continuously improve the quality of care for clients

Requirements
Education & Experience, Knowledge/Understanding
Master's degree in counseling or social work
Possess current LCSW, LPC, LMSW, LAC
Minimum of one year of experience in the mental health field which can include employment and/or paid/unpaid internship
Must complete CPR and FA training within one month of hire
Valid unrestricted driver’s license
Must be at least 21 years of age
Clear fingerprint background screening through the Department of Public Safety and comprehensive background clearance
