CAD Detailer

DRAFTER / DETAILER

Color-Ad, Inc., located in Manassas, Virginia, is currently taking applications for a drafter/detailer for our PACE (Project Administration and Cost Engineering) department.

Color-Ad is a full service sign and exhibit manufacturer producing a wide range of visual communication products to an even wider range of end-users and industries throughout the United States and beyond. Our products include interpretive museum exhibits, exterior and interior interactive elements, digital graphics, display cases, specialized cabinetry and exhibit structures, artifact mounting/installing, wayfinding signage, architectural signage, environmental signage, and corporate identity.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To prepare technical drawings and plans for the fabrication and installation of custom signs and exhibits.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND TRAITS:

• Proficient in AutoCad (AutoCad certification a plus)
• Well developed drafting and mechanical drawing skills and a solid background in CAD techniques
• Knowledge of drafting standards, mathematics, science, and engineering technology
• Above average communication and problem solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and manage tasks and time
• Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately in a deadline driven environment
• Must have a strong work ethic and be able to take initiative on projects. Must be able to work independently but also collaborate with project managers.
• Possess a general positive attitude and a good sense of humor

• Knowledge of CNC programming a plus
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience working for a museum exhibit or signage fabrication shop

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

• High school diploma with minimum 2 years of experience using latest version of AutoCad
• Minimum 2 years of Museum Exhibit industry experience
• Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering will be a plus

• Weekly salary, based on experience
• Overtime available as the workload dictates
