About the Work Unit
This position works in the Colorado Department of Transportation's (CDOT's) Boulder Residency. The work unit exists to perform all transportation planning, design and construction project engineering and administrative duties in collaboration with other DOT work units, other State and Federal agencies, consultants, utilities, other government entities, and property owners. Additionally, this work unit assures that the construction of complex projects is performed in a safe manner; is of the highest quality at the lowest possible cost; and is completed in a timely manner with the least inconvenience to the traveling public and in conformance with all contractual and regulatory requirements.
About the Position
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has a vacancy for an Engineer-in-Training I in our Boulder location. Under the supervision and guidance of a licensed Professional Engineer, the position applies and implements engineering theories, principles, and standards to design and construction of highway and other transportation related projects. The position will carry out established work processes and operations pertaining to design plans and construction inspection/oversight and learn to take on progressively more complex assignments requiring independent engineering judgment.

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or engineering technology.

Fluency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, Bentley Open-Roads Designer, SAP, Google Suite, and the ability to quickly learn other software systems.
