Manager of Systems & International Admissions

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Summary: Under the direction of the Associate Director of Operations and Systems, the Manager of Systems and International Admissions will serve as a key member of the Office of Admissions team. This position will provide leadership and support to functional users in day-to-day management of Slate functionality in support of admissions initiatives, including event management, document management, territory management support, query and report creation, portal development, and other areas as defined.

In collaboration with the Associate Director of Operations, the position will review and continually improve the functionality of Slate. The position will be expected to assess system functionality and regularly provide admissions leadership with suggested innovative enhancements and solutions that directly support enrollment goals and initiatives.

Additionally, the position will be responsible for leading the processing of, and system innovations for, all prospective international students and will serve as a key point of contact with international recruitment agents and/or contracted international recruiting firm(s). The position will work collaboratively with International Programs to provide a seamless student experience from point of application to enrollment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Development and maintenance of Admissions CRM, Slate
  • Under the leadership of the Associate Director of Operations, collaboratively executes the CRM strategy for the university including the optimal configuration, usage, and evaluation.
  • Coordinating with admissions leadership and functional leads to gather business requirements, assess current functionality and processes, and suggest system enhancements in support of office goals and initiatives.
  • Building customized dashboards, portals and analytical reports for admissions staff and campus partners.
  • Providing support for the implementation and training of new functionality and improved processes in the system.
  • Responsible for monitoring the user experience for prospective students and proposing enhancements:
  • In collaboration with other Slate Captains, Training admissions staff and campus partners on admissions technology functionality and features.
  • Maintaining an ongoing relationship with other Slate Captains to ensure consistency across instances for all university staff.
    Oversight of the international admission and application process
  • Serves as key contact with contracted international recruitment firm and agents
  • Develop and implement innovative systems to support international admission application processes
  • Advise international applicants of admission and application requirements, costs, scholarship opportunities, and federal immigration compliance regarding the student visa.
  • Process student files, conduct credential evaluation and GPA calculations, and admission decisions
  • Promptly and courteously respond to phone calls, emails, and other requests from future students as necessary
  • Work collaboratively with the Office of International Programs which oversees the support of admitted and enrolled international students

    Other duties as identified in support of institutional enrollment goals and recruitment efforts.

    Minimum Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Two plus (2 ) years of job-related experience as a full-time staff member
  • Experience with Slate or other CRM software
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
    Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Databases

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with common computer applications for applicant and relationship management; HTML, XML, etc.
  • Higher education admissions experience, including domestic and/or international
  • Experience serving as a customer service contact

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose a problem and provide technically accurate details and workarounds
  • Demonstrated ability to lead system implementation of new processes and/or enhancements
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and a client focused approach
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to self-monitor quality control and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at once and work effectively under tight deadlines
  • Ability to learn business processes and translate them into the Slate system
  • Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Ability to confidently communicate with all levels of management, including senior management
  • Experience studying, working, or living abroad
  • Ability to appreciate varying cultures, with a sensitivity to diverse ways of thinking
  • Ability to communicate in a multi-cultural environment
