TRAVEL: Travel to our Craig Campus and other service locations will be an expectation of this position

SALARY: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00 (Salary is commensurate with education, experience and required

housing benefited at $6,000.00). Excellent benefit package including retirement and health insurance is

available.
SICK LEAVE: 10 hours per month ANNUAL LEAVE: 15 hours per month

GENERAL SUMMARY
(Please note: On-campus housing is provided/required for this position)
This position is responsible for all of the security operations and emergency management on campus
including criminal incidents, emergency medical incidents, potential violent incidents, auto accidents,
and others. This position is responsible for providing training to employees and students on security,
writing and submitting all state and federal reports, and working with local law enforcement.



PRIMARY DUTIES

1. Develop the overall strategic vision for security and emergency management at all campus
locations.

2. Responsible for the effective and efficient response to all incidents, major or minor, that occur on
the campuses relating to security and emergency management.

3. Provide oversight and inspection of physical security measures including cameras, alarms, door
locks, lighting, AED’s and etc.



4. Responsible for maintaining and activating the emergency notification system as appropriate.
Develop training procedures across the college.

5. Work with the Associate Dean of Campus Life & Students to revise and update security and
emergency response plans and procedures as necessary.

6. Compile, write, and submit all state and federal reports in a timely fashion including the Clery
report.

7. Work in Maxient software creating and investigating cases.
8. “Eye in the Sky” AI Software use and operation for weapon detection.
9. Develop and lead the planning, mitigation, and recovery planning with the emergency

management teams.
10. Provide training to employees and students on security measures such as ALICE training and

evacuation plans.
11. Develop and lead security and emergency management training exercises across the college.
12. Revise and update security and emergency response plans and procedures as necessary. Work with

the Colorado Community College System to ensure procedure and plan compliance.
13. Ensure compliance with all state and federal guidelines concerning security on campus (Cleary,

Title IX, Violence Against Women Act.).
14. Work collaboratively with and be the liaison to local emergency management agencies and law

enforcement entities.
15. Work with college administration, faculty and staff on all matters pertaining to safety and security

and assist in Title IX investigations.
16. Oversee security budget.
17. Responsible for development of primary prevention and awareness programs in campus housing

for incoming students as well as ongoing prevention and awareness campaigns pursuant to the
Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act on dating and domestic violence, sexual assault,
and stalking, in collaboration with college staff responsible with overseeing Clery Act compliance.

18. Assist in maintaining campus standards and expectations through CNCC student handbook,
Clery, Title IX and other student policies and procedures.

19. Report all incidents in a timely matter, whether directly or indirectly, that you become aware
regarding Civil Rights, which includes all sexual misconduct incidences to the Equal
Opportunity/Title IX Coordinator for the College.

20. Assisting in the organization of drills, trainings, and seminars to ensure student housing is safe
with conducive living and learning environment.

21. Responsible for maintaining the daily crime log and CSA’s

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

This job requires any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and/or
experience as indicated below:

1. Education and Training: Graduation from or completed training in law enforcement,
homeland security, military police, emergency management or similar program.

2. Prior Related Experience Professional experience in law enforcement, college security, or
similar profession.

3. Licensure/Certification: Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license or have the ability to
obtain.

4. Equipment Skills: Knowledge of different types of security equipment.
5. Other Qualifications:



  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of

college staff, college organizational units and departments, students, and external
stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage operational budget.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education and Training: Associate degree in law enforcement, homeland security, or related
field. Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) training.

2. Prior Related Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in law enforcement or security.
3. Other Qualifications: Knowledge of federal report writing including Cleary.
