Veterinary Health System

Work Unit | Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories
Faculty and staff at the CSU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories (VDL) are among the nation’s finest in their fields of expertise and offer comprehensive diagnostic services. The mission of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) is to provide timely, accurate and pertinent animal disease diagnostic services and educational outreach to veterinarians, animal industries and animal interests. The Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory will strive to meet the goals the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and the University through research to develop new approaches to disease identification, investigation, prevention and through education of professional veterinary medical, graduate, and post-doctoral students. The Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory processes over 120,000 accessions per year. The laboratory performs approximately 1,400 necropsies on a variety of domestic and exotic animals each year and evaluates over 30,000 histopathological slides for animal owners, veterinarians, and researchers.
The Colorado State University VDL currently has 14 anatomic pathologists and 8 clinical pathologists active in pathology service activities. Position Summary
The Colorado State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (CSUVDL) in Fort Collins, Colorado is seeking applicants for an Administrative Professional Research Scientist (Wildlife Veterinary Pathologist) position in response to an increasing demand for wildlife pathology services and growing concerns for investigation of diseases at the domestic/wildlife interface. This is a one year position and may be renewed, based on existing caseload and funding availability. This is a three-quarter time (0.75) position and is eligible for benefits, including various insurance plans and generous retirement contributions.
