Position Summary:
The Manager, Analytical Services leads the development and execution of testing methodologies to support Product Development activities and other departments within Colorcon. The responsibility of this role is to lead, develop and support a team of Analytical Scientists to drive innovation through ideation, testing efficiencies and equipment harmonization.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Develop a strong positive team culture, in line with Colorcon’s values.
• Manages all project activities and analytical requests for Analytical Services.Includes effectively prioritizing and scheduling work in a manner that makes the most efficient use of people and resources to meet study objectives and deadlines.
• Understands dissolution, HPLC and GC analytical equipment, their functions, and routine analytical testing procedures used by Colorcon.
• Uses critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills to accelerate projects forward and provide future direction.
• Prioritizes activities in a fluid environment, ensuring that appropriate resources are allocated to the most important projects.
• Recommends new ideas of merit to management for development according to the New Product Commercialization Process.
• Maintains a sound working knowledge of current Colorcon products, and competitive technologies.
• Provides direction, technical assistance, & training to individuals in PD or other departments.
• Possesses a working knowledge of cGMP’s.
• Promotes adherence to good laboratory practices (GLP), safety guidelines and accurate documentation of experiments and activities.
• Provides high-level technical support & training to Colorcon technical staff globally & customers as required.

• B.S. in Chemistry or related field required: M.S. is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required; pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership/management/supervisory experience required; preferred experience from within pharmaceutical industry.
• Demonstrated excellence in leadership through employee development, coaching, problem-solving and change management.
• Proven project management, creativity, and communication skills.
• Informed and aware individual, a decision maker.
• Strongly self-motivated individual who is also a positive team player.
• Able to prioritize tasks and act in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and overseas.
