Position Summary
The Operator 1 works in our production areas and is responsible for manufacturing quality products efficiently, accurately, safely, and on time. This position will receive substantial guidance and training in the operations of the Indianapolis Plant and the assigned production process and equipment.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Complete training on the following (where applicable):
- GMP
- Forklift & Pallet Jack – within 6 months of hire
- Finished goods packaging and fill weighting
- Process Monitoring
- In-Process testing
- Clean various equipment including
- Vessels
- Parts
- Mixers
- Package Finished Goods using packaging equipment
- Operate the production process and make adjustments as needed.
- Start up and shut down production line.
- Monitor manufacturing process and make process adjustments according to process control plan
- Clean and disinfect work areas by sweeping, mopping, cleaning equipment with bleach and caustic detergents, dismantling and reassembling equipment, entering confined spaces to sanitize equipment, and removing waste from facility to dumpster.
- Complete daily cleaning tasks & check sheets
- Operate various equipment and instrumentation safely, according to procedure and with little supervision. Equipment may include, but not be limited to pellet mills, mixers, blenders, PLC's, dryers, pumps, filter baghouses, pumps, forklifts, hand trucks, extruders, water systems, chemical feed systems and shakers.
- Adhere to safety and quality protocols including, but not limited to wearing hairnets, beard nets, safety glasses, plant dedicated lab coats, proper safety shoes, covering and protecting exposed materials
- Document all batch sheet data and cleaning logs using cGMP quality standards
- Stage finished products to shipping or finished product transfer point
Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Proficient math skills, reading comprehension skills, mechanical aptitude and dexterity.

Ability to comprehend detailed written instructions and procedures.
- Must possess the physical ability to lift and move 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
2nd shift (rotating 12 hour shift), $18-20/hour (depending on experience)
