REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Estimators are selected by and report to the Sales Manager.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
Support the sales team in generating the highest quantity and quality of estimates/proposals.
Support the operations team in ensuring the highest accuracy and profitability of estimates/sold jobs.
Be a positive contributor to the success of Colt teammates and PAVED FOR GOOD.
ROLES AND RESPONSBILITIES
Review all estimates generated by sales team for accuracy and completeness.
Assist sales team in analyzing drawings and specifications, doing take offs, generating estimates and writing scope descriptions for Colt’s larger projects.
Assist in the preparation of preliminary project schedules and phasing plans based on the information provided in the plans and specifications.
Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers for Colt’s larger projects.
Assist account managers in customer meetings by providing technical expertise.
Qualify projects for risk and fit with Colt’s capabilities.
Attend pre-construction meetings and assist in the transition of sold projects to Colt operations team.
Maintain labor rules, costs/prices from vendors, and software used for estimating.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge and experience with reading plans.
Understanding of ADA requirements.
Experience using estimating/takeoff software (
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
3 years construction estimating experience.
3 years field construction experience (i.e. superintendent).
Experience with commercial paving a plus.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
