Description
Colt's Manufacturing Company, LLC is seeking a Senior Compliance Specialist to join our Compliance Team. This position will report to the Senior Director of ATF Compliance
Responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of applicable laws and regulations pertaining to all aspects of the business including manufacture, sales, imports, and transport of firearms, ammunition, and explosives (domestic and international) to ensure company compliance with those requirements.
- Communicate, develop, implement, follow, and enforce relevant company policies and procedures.
- Participate in various internal audits and reconciliation efforts (such as serial number or explosives inventories), NFA registry reconciliations, import permit reconciliations (Form 6A completion), CTPAT and NRC audits, recall campaigns, etc.) to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, rulings, variances, policies, procedures, and programs.
- Maintain electronic and paper compliance databases, documents, and files.
- Verify the accuracy of system-generated data and reports.
- Timely respond to incoming phone calls, emails, and correspondence.
- Timely respond to firearm trace and other requests from the ATF/Law Enforcement agencies.
- Prepare and file/submit various correspondence, forms, and reports to the ATF and other regulatory agencies including, but not limited to: National Firearms Act registration and transfer/export forms, theft/loss report forms, import permit applications and release and receipt of imported items forms, licensing documentation, variance requests, required periodic reports.
- Develop and maintain favorable working relations with ATF personnel.
- Monitor serialized scrap destruction and prepare and validate related records.
- Support the Legal Department to enable timely responses to subpoenas, litigation discovery requests, and government inquiries related to firearms and explosives compliance matters.
- Support Trade Compliance in various matters including managing internal trade compliance training records, and international sales agreements (Representative, Distributor, etc.).
- Participate in firearms and explosives compliance training events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associates degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
The desired candidate must be detail oriented, able to organize and analyze large volumes of data, recognize priorities, and work under an urgent schedule, when necessary, which could be daily. Must be able to exercise sound judgment; maintain confidentiality; implement, follow, and enforce company policies and procedures; and work both independently and in harmony with others. Must be able to competently use Microsoft Office Products (including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and especially Excel). Experience with ERP systems (particularly Epicor) helpful.
Experience with firearms and explosives, or general knowledge of federal and state firearms and explosives laws a plus.
