Dispatcher

Dispatch: Comer Feed Mill:

Primarily Responsible for Dispatching feed to company growers with appropriate feed type and quantity. Overseeing company vehicles and drivers. Must work in compliance with all company polices, FSMA regulations, GMP’s, local state and federal policies and regulations.

• Answer all incoming phone calls and direct accordingly.
• Dispatch feed trucks in efficient, cost effective manner by sending drivers to zones that will allow drivers to maximize their 12 hour shift while still meeting the needs of our growers.
• Keep record of daily feed outs and dispatch accordingly.
• Follow proper procedure in weighing feed trucks to ensure compliance with Packers and Stockyard’s rules.
• Manage proper paperwork. Keep feed delivery tickets, manuals, and feed returns in order.
• Comply with daily scale checks and report any over or under tolerances.
• Schedule P/U feed with driver and direct with field deliveries.
• Manage calls from drivers in the field to reduce feed returns.
• Communicate with drivers, and supervisors at shift change of current status and issues.
• Communicate any issues that arise with drivers, growers, or personnel to supervisor.
• Oversee feed sampling polices.(FSMA, GMP’s)
• Review current feed inventory compared to orders and communicate needs to Feed Operator.
• Oversee truck maintenance and PM program.(Company Policy and DOT requirements)
• Oversee correct warning labels are in place on all out going tickets
• Other duties as assigned
• Must wear all REQUIRED PPE

Required Technical skills:

• Knowledge of food and feed industry regulatory requirements.
• Practical computer skills with solid knowledge of MS,Exel,M-tech programs.
• Advanced organizational skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively, and read and write legibly

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Minimum High School Diploma with 3 years experience managing employees.
• Required competencies: Delegation, Conflict Management, Planning, and Customer Focus.
