Columbia-Greene Community College seeks a full-time Marketing Assistant to provide a broad range of support for the institution’s marketing, communications, and community relations initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing Assistant will implement various strategies to support Columbia-Greene’s enrollment initiatives and build awareness of the College, its programs, and overall role in the community. These tactics will include digital, print, and out-of-home marketing campaigns utilizing earned and paid placements, internal relations, and social media.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimizing and tracking ad buy campaigns;
- Managing social media design and coverage;
- Trafficking and tracking materials between the designer and departments;
- Drafting web and other copy for review;
- Building web pages;
- Monitoring and making daily updates to the website and social media channels;
- Developing fresh stories regarding students, faculty, staff, and alumni;
- Providing public relations support for all events hosted by various departments;
- Managing internal communications.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, marketing, or a related field, plus a minimum of two years professional experience. Experience in an academic environment is a plus.
- Superior copy writing, editing, and proof-reading skills.
- Basic photographic and videographic skills.
- An in-depth understanding of media and social media-management platforms.
- Knowledge of and experience with common Content Management Systems such as Wordpress.
- Familiarity with engagement marketing systems and/or CRMs such as Constant Contact.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of Adobe Suite.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format to a variety of audiences.

Salary and Benefit Information
Contractual salary will be commensurate with experience.
