What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher/Service Coordinator position at Columbia Power & Water Systems?
Columbia Power & Water Systems seeks an individual for a full-time, non-exempt position to dispatch, coordinate, and schedule power service crews.
Duties and responsibilities include the following: dispatch power service crews; coordinate and schedule work for power service crews; investigate and respond to customer service complaints; coordinate work for street light maintenance; interact with inspector, electricians, and home builders; maintain timesheets for power service crews; coordinate service work between the Engineering Department and Customer Service Department; enter electric service lines, transformers, and meters in the Geographic Information System (GIS); operate the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system; access information in the Customer Information System (CIS) regarding meters, transformers, and security lights; enter customer complaints and outages in the Outage Management System (OMS); notify power service crews of outages and emergencies and open and close the outages in OMS; communicate with other employees via CPWS radio communication equipment and telephone; subject to stand-by, after-hours, and/or emergency call-out; and other duties as assigned.
Required skills/abilities include the following: acknowledge and adhere to all CPWS policies; regular attendance at work; perform duties safely without endangering self, others, and the public; ability to read and write; ability to use eyes, hands, and fingers to operate computer keyboard quickly and accurately; ability to use mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure; ability to read, understand, and follow instructions and job-related material; and the ability to work inside.
Physical requirements include the following: ability to occasionally lift 0 – 25 pounds; ability to lift 0 – 10 pounds for 2 hours a day; ability to sit for 2 hours at a time; and the ability to talk, see, hear, reach, handle, and feel.
Education, experience, and qualifications include the following: high school diploma or equivalent required and previous experience working with an electric utility preferred.
Residency requirement includes residing within a CPWS service territory or Maury County due to the position being subject to stand-by, after-hours, and/or emergency call-out.
