The Columbus Arthritis Center is looking for a full-time MLT to work in our on-site laboratory with our state of the art analyzers. We offer a comprehensive test menu utilizing:
- Ortho Chemistry
- Basic hematology
- Immunology
- Infectious disease
This is a 1st shift, weekday position from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Tuesday - Friday.
Summary and Purpose of Position
Under supervision of the Lab Manager, this position is responsible for performing routine medical laboratory tests and subsequent reporting for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of rheumatological diseases. In conjunction along with the Lab Manager, this position is responsible for assay validation, linearity, and monitoring QC compliance.

Essential Functions
- Schedules technologists for rotation through lab areas, ensuring all staff routinely perform weekly/monthly/or periodic maintenance on each analyzer
- Performs lab administrative duties such as lot-to-lot changes and training new staff, calibration verification, linearity, calibration tracking
- Obtaining or receiving specimens
- Conducts chemical analyses of body fluids, such as blood and urine, using microscope or automatic analyzer to detect abnormalities or disease, and enter findings into the patient record or other software, as necessary
- Performing quality control and preventative maintenance
- Ability to interpret results correctly

Minimum Qualifications
- Previous experience in a private-practice lab desirable, but not required
- Must be proficient at typing on a keyboard
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, ASCP certification preferred
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
- Associate will be scheduled based on operational/patient need
- Associate will be required to work for extended periods at a computer
- Associate may be exposed to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues
