Position Description: CDL Delivery Driver
Organizational Unit: Logistics Report to: General Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Effective Date: 5/1/20
Employment Status: Regular/Full-Time
Objective: Contribute to the growth and profitability of the company by providing
timely and accurate truss delivery functions.
Basic Function: Ensure safe, timely, and courteous delivery of all CRT products.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain an accurate and timely delivery schedule by ensuring that all pick-ups and deliveries are made accurately and according to schedule to the correct location.
- Deliver trusses to jobsites and roll-off as required by customer; ensure proper techniques are used to avoid downtime, damaging product, material, or surroundings.
- Operate and drive truck in a safe and accurate manner.
- Load/unload trucks properly with the assistance of a forklift loading/unloading of trusses in a safe manner.
- Verify proper loading to ensure all product is accounted for, properly tied down, and attach flags as needed.
- Ensure proper delivery of trusses by reviewing shipping ticket and confirming accurate truss labels, quantities, and all required ancillary products.
- Comply with DOT driving regulations at all times.
- Complete daily inspection checklist prior to operation and submit to Supervisor.
- Complete daily log by documenting time spent off-duty, on-duty/not driving, and on-duty/driving and submit to Supervisor
- Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the interior/exterior of the delivery truck(s).
Secondary Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assist in truck maintenance of truck by ensuring problems noted on checklist are corrected, maintaining fuel levels, and other miscellaneous maintenance items as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Plant Manager
Knowledge/Experience:
- Valid Ohio Commercial Drivers License (Class A)
- Three years of commercial driving experience; construction-related delivery truck and trailer experience preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
- Possess valid Ohio Class A CDL.
- Exceptional customer service skills including the ability to remain calm and courteous in sometimes stressful situations
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Basic maintenance/repair knowledge
- Ability to pass a road test successfully
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a team player
- Maintain good attendance

Physical Requirement:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds on a repetitive and frequent basis
