We are currently seeking a Human Resources Policy Specialist to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $32-36/hr benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.


Responsibilities

The Administrative Policy Analyst position will live within the Mission and Administrative Resource Support (MARS) office. The purpose of this position is to research and conduct fact finding for agency wide initiatives and administrative policies, draft policy recommendations that are aligned with agency objectives, draft standard operating procedures for internal processes for various audiences, and act as the POC for agency policies.

     

Job Duties:

  • Provides support in administering HR policies and procedures.
  • Write detailed comments, explanations, recommendations, and review outcomes, as well as write a wide variety of correspondence which explains policy and procedural requirements to program and administrative staff.
  • Collects and analyzes HR data and makes recommendations to management.
  • Processes human resource documentation according to established procedures.
  • Conducts new hire orientation and provides support during the onboarding period.
  • Researches and recommends internal HR office related policies and procedures.
  • Provides support within a specialized area of HR including benefits, compensation, recruiting, performance management or employee relations.
  • Audits records and documents for HR regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinates implementation of services, policies and programs related to HR.

Qualifications

  • Business Management and Administration

Skills:

  • Ability to research and interpret Federal Administrative Regulations issued by the Office of Personnel Management
  • Knowledge of Federal Leave, Workplace Flexibilities, and Travel Regulations
