The US base salary range for this full-time position is $23-34/hr benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
We are looking for a Distribution Control Technician to join our Metrology & Engineering Services (M&ES) group which provides leadership and world-class expertise in metrology and test equipment. This position will be a hands-on distribution control technician to manage, store, inventory, transport, and retrieve from our library of test-equipment. This position will also include a customer service component dealing with and responding to customer requests for test-equipment. The successful candidate will learn to handle and identify a wide variety of test-equipment in an internal test-equipment service center in support of the M&ES group.
Tasks include but not limited to:
• Responsible for a variety of general administrative activities and logistical activities for the Loan Pool service center, a service center that rents general purpose test-equipment to JPL projects.
• Acts as a customer service liaison at the Loan Pool's customer service counter.
• Pulls items and fills orders and issues materials, supplies, components and parts from stock.
• Performs logistical duties such as: receiving, storing, issuing, transporting, and inventorying equipment.
• Ensures stock is kept in orderly arrangement, and scans inventory items to update inventory database.
• Receives material, checks against documentation for nomenclature, identification and quantity.
• Processes and follows-up on expedite items with customers and engineering group.
Required Skills:
• High School diploma with 6 years of related experience (or associates degree with 1 year or related experience).
• Inventory management software experience.
• Written customer interaction skills using electronic tools (e.g., email, slack, etc.).
• Ability to lift 23 kgs of test devices and instrumentation.
• Microsoft Office Suite of Tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Desired Skills:
• Customer service background.
• Familiarity with instrumentation and/or test equipment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collective team.
