SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Grill Supervisor is responsible for the effective management and operating of the Grill/Café and will assist the Grill Manager to oversee the direction of the Grill/Cafe’s daily activities in accordance with CNE policies and procedures. The Grill Supervisor’s performance is necessary to ensure guest satisfaction, profitability and a positive, productive and compliant work environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following are major duties and are not intended to be all-inclusive or restrictive.
- Assist the Grill Manager to hone employee skills, supplement training and development to Grill/Café employees by working side-by-side with them.
- Assist the Grill Manager with subordinate performance reviews and counseling sessions when necessary.
- Provide leadership and support to the entire Grill/Café staff; builds morale and encourages empowerment of employees.
- Maintains a positive and compliant employee relations climate, promotes support and communication with all employees and assists the Grill Manager with maintaining a positive work environment.
- Reinforce expectations, procedures and practices through repetition and strong communication, leads by example and continuesinstruction to employees to guarantee exceptional quality and consistency of food concepts, the final product and guest service.
- Assists the Grill Manager with employee recordkeeping duties such as variances, timecards and employee attendance records.
- Assist the Grill Manager with disciplinary decisions, including recommending employment actions such as hiring, or suspension.
- Assist the Grill Manager with end of month food inventory
- Assists the Grill Manager with controlling labor costs through effective scheduling of Grill/Café employees, implementing cross-training and development of employees.
- Responsible for ensuring that food waste is limited through effective control measures including portion controls, kitchen timings,food inventory rotation measures, receiving and food storage procedures and waste control.
- Ensures that the purchasing, when needed, and the preparation of all food products meet CNE’s standards of quality and consistency.
- Supervises all line set-up, prep, and breakdown activities. Responsible for in-service delegation of tasks to Grill/Café personnel.
- Monitors production of food preparation ensuring recipe specifications, portion controls and kitchen timings are met.
- Monitors all food served relative to appearance, temperature, sanitary and quality standards.
- Assists Grill Manager with end of month item inventory, as needed or requested.
- Ensures compliance with health, sanitation, safety and employment regulations by clearly communicating and reinforcing standardsand procedures to Grill/Café employees.
- Coordinates the storage, maintenance, and repair of all kitchen equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Assists with the delivery and set-up of catered services and food service areas as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
The Grill Supervisor is regularly required to stand or sit in a stationary position for half or more of their shift, communicate, and exchange
Information with coworkers and guests, and maintain the Grill/Cafe area and personnel. The Grill Supervisor must reach with hands and
arms, sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Grill Supervisor is regularly required to do light lifting of objects up to
75 pounds. Work is performed throughout all areas of the facility where the noise levels vary from quiet to loud depending on the time of
day, the specific location, and the amount of business. The Grill Supervisor must be able and willing to work evenings, weekends, and
holidays in a smoke-filled environment. The workplace is also under constant surveillance both inside and outside the facility.
The Grill Supervisor may be exposed to the risks associated with resolving contentious issues with difficult guests and staff members.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two (2) years of food service experience in a full-service restaurant or events venue, and;
One (1) year of casino experience preferable.
Professional appearance and presentation required.
Knowledge of and skill in using computer software, including Microsoft Suite programs.
Maintains a current Food Handler’s License.
Working knowledge of employee scheduling in a hospitality environment.
High School Diploma, or equivalent to include Home School Certificate.
Salary : $14 - $23
