Job Description
Main Responsibilities
- Manages the monthly revenue interface process for the CSG and Mobile billing systems, including review of billing tie outs, to ensure reported revenue is complete and accurate.
- Manages the monthly rev rec process (i.e. the blender) to ensure results are stated in accordance with the revenue recognition standard (ASC606). Lead and implement any changes to the rev rec process related to new products and offerings.
- Analyze large data sets from various billing systems, NDW, and other databases using SQL queries, and Analyze Data 360 graphs.
- Contributes to cross-functional projects related to billing system enhancements, billing system development and testing, and new product launches in order to achieve the company’s objectives.
- Analyzes and explains variances in the monthly financial results to prior month, forecast, budget, and prior year and prepares monthly reporting packet and division P&L's
- Provides monthly readout of Cable segment revenue results and key drivers to senior leadership.
- Works with internal and external auditors to provide support and documentation related to quarterly Audit testing.
- Reviews monthly balance sheet reconciliations and variance explanations prepared by staff and provides guidance to make necessary changes or adjusting entries as needed.
- Leads team development efforts by sharing new product information, organizing knowledge-sharing sessions, and identifying other opportunities that would benefit the overall team.
- Responsible for new product general ledger mappings and maintenance in multiple billing systems.
- Implements new accounting processes related to new revenue accounting standards.
- Plans, organizes, and coordinates activities of Billing and general Accounting.
- Ensures accurate and timely reporting and analysis of financial data.
- Monitors and develops procedures to accommodate operational and policy changes.
- Supports ongoing internal audit inquiries and external audit processes.
- Ensures adherence to corporate policies for internal controls.
- Conducts independent reviews of business processes and the internal controls environment. Identifies control deficiencies and opportunities for improving profitability and organizational effectiveness.
- Evaluates internal controls and operational performance against industry best practices and advises management on areas of internal controls and operational improvements. Recommends policies and procedures to minimize business risk.
